Cardashift is building an ecosystem of products and services based on Cardano blockchain technology to foster sustainable development. These upcoming products will allow us to improve our acceleration frameworks, tokenomics, and the projects’ successes, making our launchpad more competitive, with increasingly powerful digital tools to accelerate selected projects efficiently. This will give us our advantage, in the long-run, over accelerators from the classic ecosystem.
You will find, below, the building blocks required to reach this goal. As we are evolving in a fast-moving ecosystem, it remains highly possible that new features will be added along the way, or that one of the blocks is built in partnership with another player in the Cardano ecosystem. We will focus our creative efforts on building missing tools in the ecosystem.
First Sprint: offering the best features on the Launchpad
By developing an ecosystem around the launchpad we’ll be able to build autonomous features and offer the best UX possible.
Working with the IOHK teams, we are completely aware of the current state-of-the-art on Cardano. The following roadmap is ambitious, but we’re hopeful we can pull it off.
1. The first milestone is the launchpad in Q2 2022. Stay tuned!
A first version of the launchpad is already being developed.
The first projects will be presented and funded in Q2 2022.
CLAP holders will already be able to dive deep into the projects in development, vote for their preferred ones and invest in the selected ones. We plan to include different features alongside, notably a section on the best practices for project owners and a space for shared feedback accessible to all community members.
2. The wallet
Existing wallets in the Cardano ecosystem have not yet implemented an interface to allow interactions with a smart contract. So, if we use one of them, we will be limited with regards to the potential features we can offer. Let’s take the example of staking.
Our voting system to select projects is based on staking, to incentivize the community members to cast an informed vote (see our article The Cardashift voting system). So we’d like voters to be able to see the number of CLAPs they have stored on the projects in real-time; but to do so, we need an interaction with the smart contract.
We have already started working on a first version of the wallet, Tokenomia, and will continue to improve it. This wallet won the EMEA Europe Region prize of the Plutus Pioneer Capstone Hackathon held during the October 2021 Cardano Summit. This improved version has “Smart Contract” interaction capabilities. It has its own database to keep track of monetary policies, allow the admin to mint native assets and deploy vesting scripts.
If no standard has been created by the time to vest tokens in the different funds (Treasury, Team, Ambassadors, etc.), we are open to the idea of proposing our solution as a first standard, and letting the community review it on Cardano Improvement Proposal.
3. The Dex
In the mid-term, we will probably have a list of projects that have had their IDOs on our platform and are being accelerated. We’ll list their tokens on Cardashift, so that they are permanently visible to our community of investors. For this, we need to create our own Dex or build an interface with an existing Dex. To ensure our independence, we are more willing to go for the first option.
4. Staking
As explained earlier, we want to base our voting system on the staking of CLAPs.
Today, staking ADAs is possible on Cardano, but there is no decentralized solution, with a smart contract, for staking native tokens. It will be our first priority to offer this new feature in the Cardano ecosystem.
Second Sprint: offering new financing solutions and structuring our projects pipeline
Financial tools
In the mid-term, we want to develop different fundraising methods for the project owners, notably AirDrop, Liquidity Pool and Stake-to-Earn. You can check our article on Cardashfit’s tokenomics for more details.
Let’s look at the Stake-to-Earn solution…
As outlined in our Whitepaper, after the initial project selection process, the Cardashift team will provide the necessary support to project leaders to maximize their chances of success in the IDOs. This support will come prior to fundraising, and we don’t want to force entrepreneurs to pay for this program upfront. That’s why we will develop a specific Cardashift node for each project, and use the operating revenues to support projects in the pre-funding phase. As an incentive, the investor will receive the interest fees plus potential advantages in the projects’ IDOs.
New types of product
Besides new fundraising solutions, we aim to develop an infrastructure for new financial products, like lending or insurance.
We want to encourage and support projects that require a DAO. Besides the utility token, we aim at suggesting Security Tokens Offering (STO) to project owners. We are aware that there is still a long way to go, notably on the legal aspects, but we’ve been working on frameworks to develop with specialized lawyers.
Last but not least, we aim to widen the scope of actors involved in generating projects, while increasing the level of impact. We are working on a unique approach to identifying the most pressing problems: the Shift Builder.
The key principles are outlined in the article Boosting early-stage impact investments: the role of a decentralized ecosystem. We plan to create dedicated task forces to work on the “blind spots” of key industries and recruit an A-team of entrepreneurs to develop the defined solutions.
This model, inspired by some well-known venture builders, is still in the design stage, but it could fit perfectly within a blockchain ecosystem. Task forces could be launched anywhere in the world in any sector, and propose projects on the launchpad.
We will write soon about this important future feature for Cardashift.
Beyond the launchpad…
Firstly, in terms of Cardashift governance, we want to move progressively towards a fully decentralized system, using the CLAP utilities.
Once the launchpad is live, CLAP holders will exercise considerable influence over the projects funded and accelerated by the platform (please check our article Voting system). Ultimately, we want them to be the only decision-makers on Cardashift, by giving them all the analysis tools and frameworks they need.
In the long-run, we also want to move beyond the launchpad framework.
Our primary objective remains the generation of impact, using blockchain technology to create systemic approaches to global issues. We were greatly inspired by the work done on the ixo protocol, as a first step towards valuing impact goals. Perhaps, we could take inspiration from it to dig into the topic of a decentralized blockchain-based carbon market.
